Where the top seniors in the 615 Preps coverage area are committed

As the 2024 high school football season inches closer and closer, we have a pretty good idea who the top players are already who will help define the season. This year’s group of seniors is once again special.

Middle Tennessee is loaded with talent year-in and year-out. That hasn’t changed.

This season’s crop of seniors is once again loaded with players who have already committed to play at the next level. There are four major conferences remaining in college football and each has a commitment from Middle Tennessee pledged to one of its teams.

Below we took a look at all of those commitments and when those players made their college decision.

ACC

Eric Hazzard, EDGE, Page (Committed to Louisville): Page’s standout defensive lineman announced his commitment to the Cardinals on June 27. He chose Louisville over Arkansas State and Memphis.

Isaiah Groves, Running back, East Robertson (Committed to Georgia Tech): Last year’s Class 2A Mr. Football winner, Groves committed to the Yellow Jackets on June 18.

Jon Adair, Offensive lineman, Lipscomb Academy (Committed to Virginia): Adair was the first of Lipscomb’s 2025 standout prospects to commit announcing his pledge to the Cavaliers on December 15.

Kolbe Harmon, Athlete, Brentwood Academy (Committed to Duke): Harmon became the second midstate prospect to commit on to an ACC school on June 27 with his pledge to the Blue Devils.

Big 10

Brenden Anes, Linebacker, Page (Committed to Wisconsin): Anes is a cornerstone of the Patriots’ dominant defense and announced his pledge to the Badgers on January 22.

Daune Morris, Athlete, Oakland (Committed to USC): The Trojans landed a steal with Morris when he announced his commitment to USC on April 4.

Kyler Garcia, Defensive lineman, Pearl-Cohn (Committed to Indiana): Indiana made a huge impression with his official visit on June 21. He announced his commitment to the Hoosiers five days later on June 26.

Ta’Khyian Whitset, Offensive Lineman, Antioch (Committed to Purdue): Like Garcia and Indiana, Whitset’s visit to Purdue on March 29 left a mark. He committed to the Boilermakers a little over a month later on April 30.

Big 12

Amir Leonard-Jean Charles, Defensive lineman, Lipscomb Academy (Committed to West Virginia): Leonard-Jean Charles had his choice of schools to pick from ultimately chose the Mountaineers on June 19.

Chauncey Gooden, Offensive lineman, Lipscomb Academy (Committed to Colorado): Coach Prime came to Tennessee and landed a huge win with Gooden. Lipscomb’s standout lineman committed to the Buffaloes on June 24.

Sam Haley, Linebacker, Ensworth (Committed to TCU): Haley visited Forth Worth in late April and a few weeks later pledged to the Horned Frogs on May 10.

SEC

Donovan Starr, Defensive Back, Ravenwood (Committed to Auburn): Hours after leaving Auburn for his official visit, Starr locked in his decision pledging to the Tigers on June 6.

Ethan Utley, Defensive lineman, Ensworth (Committed to Tennessee): The state’s top defensive lineman, Utley’s decision came down to Michigan, Tennessee and Texas. He decided to stay home choosing the Volunteers on March 28.

Gavin Rush, Punter, Page (Committed to Arkansas): A key cog in Page’s success the last few seasons, Rush announced his pledge to the Razorbacks on July 3.

George MacIntyre, Quarterback, Brentwood Academy (Committed to Tennessee): The state’s top prospect and a five-star recruit, MacIntyre committed to the Volunteers on January 22. He chose them over Alabama, LSU and Michigan.

Jaylan Morgan, Defensive back, Rockvale (Committed to Georgia): Morgan is the latest player from the area to commit announcing his pledge to the Bulldogs on Monday.

Max Kelley, Kicker, Gallatin (Committed to South Carolina): Kelley visited Columbia and left so impressed that he committed to the Gamecocks on June 15.

Stephon Shivers, Offensive lineman, Brentwood Academy (Committed to Georgia): Shivers announced his commitment to Georgia while still at Humboldt on March 22.

Other Notable Commitments

Ben Hubbard, Wide receiver, Ravenwood (Committed to MTSU): One of the top receivers around, Hubbard pledged to Derek Mason and the Blue Raiders on April 20.

Bo Bryan, Offensive line, Rockvale (Committed to MTSU): Bryan announced his pledge to the Blue Raiders on May 17.

Brooklen Davis, Running back, MBA (Committed to Austin-Peay): Davis is staying fairly close to home with his commitment to the Govs on June 19.

Brady Smith, Offensive lineman, CPA (Committed to Furman): The anchor on CPA’s offensive line this season, Smith committed to the Paladins on June 21.

Caleb Ellison, Linebacker, Oakland (Committed to Furman): Furman landed another midstate win on the 4th of July with Ellison’s commitment.

Clayton Merrill, Wide receiver, Brentwood (Committed to Austin-Peay): Like Davis above, Merrill is staying fairly close to home after committing to the Govs on May 2.

London Bironas, Kicker, Brentwood Academy (Committed to Princeton): The Tigers landed a pledge from arguably the area’s biggest boot when Bironas announced his commitment on June 30.

Neo Clifton, Wide receiver, Brentwood Academy (Committed to MTSU): Clifton won’t have to go far once his high school career comes to a close after committing to the Blue Raiders on July 1.

Taylor Lawrence, Defensive back, Independence (Committed to MTSU): Lawrence announced his commitment to Derek Mason and the Blue Raiders on July 8.

William Wiebush, Athlete, Page (Committed to Memphis): Page’s do-it-all star, Wiebush visited Memphis on June 12 and committed to the Tigers just under a week later on June 18.
