Vanderbilt fans have been on cloud nine over the last week and a half.

Last week they received news that FRA junior Omarii Sanders, a standout prospect in the 2027 class, had chosen them over the like of Alabama, Georgia and Texas A&M.

A day before the Early Signing Period kicked off, news broke of Nashville Christian five-star quarterback Jared Curtis flipping from Georgia to the Commodores. While Curtis initially denied that a decision had been made, he later clarified later in the day that he was flipping to Vanderbilt.

On Wednesday Vanderbilt fans learned of more good news as CPA standout receiver Owen Cabell had flipped from Alabama to the Commodores.

Cabell had been committed to Alabama since June 30.

For the last three seasons Cabell established himself as not only one of the best receivers in the area, but the state.

He played a vital role in the Lions winning back-to-back Division II-AA titles in 2023 and 2024. As a junior Cabell had his best season catching 43 passes for 973 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Cabell finished his senior season with 43 receptions for 686 yards and seven touchdowns. His high school career concluded with him totaling 110 receptions for 2,101 yards and 26 touchdowns.
