Nashville Christian five-star quarterback Jared Curtis flips from Georgia to Vanderbilt

The nation’s No. 1 quarterback in the 2026 class, Jared Curtis, is staying home.

The 6 ‘3, 225-pound five-star from Nashville Christian has flipped his commitment from Georgia to Vanderbilt.

News of Curtis’ decision broke Tuesday morning. However, Curtis rebutted the news saying that he the information was not correct. He later tweeted out a clarification post officially announcing the news.

In October Curtis attended a Vanderbilt practice and was in attendance for an official visit during the Commodores win over Missouri.

He’s ranked as a consensus five-star prospect by each of the major recruiting outlets.

Curtis had originally committed to Georgia in 2024 but stepped away from that commitment later in the year.

In May he recommitted to the program choosing the Bulldogs over Oregon.

With this commitment, Curtis becomes Vanderbilt’s highest-rated recruit of all time — the program’s first-ever five-star and the new No. 1 commit in school history, surpassing former record-holder Chris Young (Class of 2000). This is a foundational moment for the Commodores.

Vanderbilt has long pulled select talent from the 615 pipeline, including current standout WR Junior Sherrill (Pearl-Cohn). Curtis continues that trend — and elevates it to a level the program has never seen.

He joins BGA’s Nate Fleming as Vanderbilt’s 2026 in-state commitments.

Curtis will wrap up his high school career Thursday as Nashville Christian takes on USJ for the Division II-A championship.

Entering the game he’s completed 65% of his passes for 1,863 yards and 31 touchdowns. Curtis has also rushed for 536 yards and 10 more touchdowns.
