Kayte Madison Bjornstad headlines 2024-2025 615 Preps All-Area small class girls basketball teams

We’re putting a bow on the high school basketball season with some all-area team selections.

Over the last three days we released the selections for our large class boys, large class girls teams and small class boys teams. Now it’s time to officially wrap things up with the small class girls teams.

The 615 Preps large class coverage area includes teams in Division II-A as well as Classes 2A and 1A.

Players selected to these teams are selected based on their season-long stats and nominations from their head coaches. Here’s a look at those selected to the second ever 615 Preps small class teams:

Player of the Year

Kayte Madison Bjornstad, PCA, Jr.

Bjornstad was a force down in the post all season long leading the Lady Lions to the DII-A semifinals. She finished her junior season averaging 17 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists and a block per game.

Coach of the Year

Kyle Upton, East Nashville

The Lady Eagles have come close to making it back to Murfreesboro for years now but always came up just short. That changed this season.

Upton’s squad finished the year 25-2 with their lone regular season loss coming to Goodpasture by three. Beating Jackson County by 17, they advanced to the state tournament for the first time since 2018.

First Team

Guard

Brilee Price, Ezell-Harding, Jr.

Why chosen: The DII-A District 4 MVP, Price put herself as a name to know going forward with her play this year. She led the Lady Eagles averaging 18.7 point, 6.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 4.2 steals per game.

Guard

Kennedy Thornton, East Nashville, Jr.

Why chosen: A rising star for the Lady Eagles, Thornton did a little bit of everything for them this season. She averaged 16.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals per game.

Guard

Allye Pennington, East Robertson, So.

Why chosen: Pennington broke on the scene as a freshman and only got better this season. The regular season district MVP and district tournament MVP, Pennington averaged 22.8 points, 3.6 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.4 rebonds..

Forward

Gracie Belle Weakley, Cheatham County, Jr.

Why chosen: Weakley was Cheatham County’s top player this season leading the Lady Cubs at 14.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, two assists and two steals per game.

Forward

Aniston Allgood, Nashville Christian, So.

Why chosen: A rising sophomore, Allgood’s been a standout since first stepping onto a high school court and just had her best season averaging 17.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

Sixth Player

Brooklyn Jones, Goodpasture, So.

Why chosen: Jones is a sparkplug for the the Lady Cougars leading them in scoring at 15.1 points per game shooting 43% from the floor. She also averaged 2.4 rebounds, two steals and 1.6 assists.

Second Team

Guard: Eva Birkofer, PCA, Fr.

Guard: Reghan Williams, Ezell-Harding, Sr.

Guard: Madyson Elliott, East Nashville, Sr.

Forward: Aryanna Ridgeway, Ezell-Harding, Sr.

Forward: Macie Brelje, Watertown, Jr.

6th: Ella Johnson, FRA, Fr.

Third Team

Guard: Brinli Bain, Eagleville, Sr.

Guard: LaZaviona Hawkins, Goodpasture, Sr.

Guard: Ava Zenner, FRA, Fr.

Forward: Chloe Collins, Smith County, Sr.

Forward: Anna Hellums, Clarksville Academy, Sr.

6th: Ida Bernard, East Robertson, Sr.
