Jayden Jones headlines 2024-2025 615 Preps All-Area small class boys basketball teams

We’re putting a bow on the high school basketball season with some all-area team selections.

Over the last two days we released the selections for our large class boys and large class girls teams. Now it’s time to highlight the small class teams starting first with the boys.

The 615 Preps large class coverage area includes teams in Division II-A as well as Classes 2A and 1A.

Players selected to these teams are selected based on their season-long stats and nominations from their head coaches. Here’s a look at those selected to the second ever 615 Preps small class teams:

Player of the Year

Jayden Jones, Goodpasture, Sr.

Jones capped off a prolific high school career by becoming the latest Cougar to win a Mr. Basketball award.

The Tennessee State signee finished his senior season averaging 18.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Goodpasture finished the year in the Division II-A semifinals against PCA.

Coach of the Year

Kerry Hammonds, PCA

A year after coming up short of a state title, Hammonds led the Lions back to the DII-A championship game and this time they came out on top for the first time ever.

Hammonds’ squad finished the year 30-2 beating BGA 78-68 in the championship game.

First Team

Guard

Greyson Williams, BGA, Sr.

Why chosen: Williams played a pivotal role in leading the Wildcats to the Division II-A championship game. He finished the year averaging 20 points, four assists, four rebounds and three steals per game.

Guard

A.J. Petway, LEAD Academy, Sr.

Why chosen: Petway’s been one of Metro Nashville’s best scorers for years now and was at his best this season. He led the Panthers to a substate appearance averaging 20.4 points, 8.7 assists, 4.7 steals and 3.8 rebounds per game.

Forward

Camden Cole, Eagleville, Sr.

Why chosen: Cole did just about everything for an Eagles team that was one of the best programs in the state all season long. He finished the year as the District 9-1A MVP averaging 14 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in just 21 minutes of action per game.

Forward

Chris Washington Jr., PCA, Jr.

Why chosen: A transfer from Florida, Washington is ranked as a five-star prospect for the 2026 class. He played like one in his first season with the Lions averaging 16.1 points and 6.9 rebounds.

Center

Preston Wade, PCA, Sr.

Why chosen: Wade was a double-double machine this season for the Lions. He averaged 15 points, 11.3 rebounds, 4.1 blocks and connected on 64% of his shots including 34% of his three-point attempts.

Sixth Man

Arnett Hayes Jr., BGA, Sr.

Why chosen: Hayes came from dominating on the football field to the basketball court making the transition with ease. He averaged 16 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and scored a game-high 32 points in the DII-A championship.

Second Team

Guard: King Keary, Goodpasture, Sr.

Guard: MJ Gibbs, Ezell-Harding, Sr.

Forward: Josh Huggins, Goodpasture, Fr.

Forward: Clay Payne, USN, Sr.

Center: Avery Coles, White House Heritage, Jr.

6th: Cortez Murphy, East Nashville, Jr.

Third Team

Guard: Rhett Broussard, Goodpasture, Sr.

Guard: Miles Alexander, Cannon County, Fr.

Forward: Aiden Bolden, PCA, Jr.

Forward: Ford DeShazo, GCA, Jr.

Center: Carter Wallace, Sycamore, So.

6th: Drew Massey, Liberty Creek, Fr.
