30 large class girls basketball players to watch this season

Yesterday we highlighted 75 boys players you need to see at some point during the season. Now we’re putting a spotlight on the area’s best girls players.

Kicking things off, we’ll focus first on the girls who play for large class programs in the 615 Preps coverage area.

The schools in our coverage area that make up the large class category consist of Class 4A, Class 3A and Division II-AA programs.

*Notes: Stats for these players were obtained via an email sent out to coaches in the last week. These lists will also contain players who averaged 9 ppg or more and will have no more than four players from the same team.

LARGE CLASS BOYS: 45 large class boys basketball players to watch this season

SMALL CLASS BOYS: 30 small class boys basketball players to watch this season

Akiya Mays, Antioch, Sr.: Mays is one of the Lady Bears’ top returning scorers after averaging 10.2 points and seven rebounds as a junior.

Paige Morris, Brentwood, Jr: Morris was a 40% shooter from beyond-the-arc last season averaging 9.7 points, 2.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds.

Ella Ryan, Brentwood, Sr.: Ryan was one of the most efficient scorers around last season averaging 23 points per game. She also averaged 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 steals and three assists.

SaMiya Brown, Cane Ridge, Jr.: Brown averaged close a double-double at 8.6 points and 7.3 rebounds as a sophomore.

Kyla Mustapha, Cane Ridge, Sr.: Mustapha led the Lady Ravens last season averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds.

Bethany Jackson, Central Magnet, Sr.: Jackson averaged 8.8 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Lady Tigers.

Madisen Stangley, Central Magnet, Fr.: Stangley had a great season as an eighth grader averaging seven points, 5.1 rebounds and two assists per game.

Malon Smith, Clarksville, Sr.: Smith will lead the Lady Wildcats this year following a junior season that saw her average 13.3 points, 4.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.2 steals.

Lily Morrow, CPA, Jr.: Morrow averaged 12 points, hit 55 3-pointers and 5.1 rebounds for the Lady Lions.

Merli Routh, CPA, Jr.: Routh played a pivotal role in leading the Lady Lions to the DII-AA semifinals averaging 11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, four assists and 2.3 steals.

Abby Larkin, Father Ryan, Sr.: Larkin averaged close to a double-double last season at 9.3 points and 8.2 rebounds.

Alyssa Potier, Green Hill, Sr.: Potier led the Lady Hawks last season averaging 12.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

Ava Krumwiede, Harpeth Hall, Sr.: Krumwiede, a Harvard signee, is one of the area’s best Division II-AA talents. She averaged 13 points, 6.1 rebounds and two assists as a junior.

Aaliyah Fleming, Independence, Sr.: Fleming led the Lady Eagles averaging 11.4 points, 4.7 rebounds an 1.2 steals.

Savanna Seay, Independence, Sr.: Seay averaged 9.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals last season for the Lady Eagles.

Tiara Spencer, Lebanon, Sr.: Spencer broke out for Devilettes last season averaging 12 points per game and shooting 37% from beyond-the-arc.

Maddyn Merritt, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: Merritt had a great junior season for the Lady Mustangs averaging 11.5 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Bella Shepherd, Lipscomb Academy, Jr.: Shepherd surpassed the 1,000 point mark during a sophomore season that saw her average 16.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.

Sara Brakefield, Nolensville, Jr.: Brakefield averaged close to a double-double for the Lady Knights as a sophomore at nine points and 8.8 rebounds.

Nyla Johnson, Nolensville, So.: One of the many young standouts for the Lady Knights last season, Johnson averaged 10.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.8 assists as a freshman.

Leilani Washington, Nolensville, Sr.: Washington proved herself to be one of the best in Williamson County last season averaging 14.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.9 steals.

Qimara Summers, Northeast, Sr.: Summers led the Lady Eagles averaging 11.9 points, 4.2 steals, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

Erica Perkins, Overton, Jr.: Perkins is the Lady Bobcats’ top returning player after averaging 10.3 points and 2.1 steals as a sophomore.

Mary Elizabeth Fox, Page, Sr.: Page led the Lady Patriots last season averaging 15.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists.

Taya Totten, Portland, Sr.: Totten will lead the Lady Panthers into the new season following a junior year that saw her average 14.5 points, four rebounds and 2.5 assists.

Madison Taylor, Riverdale, So.: Taylor made 55 3-pointers as a freshman for the Lady Warriors.

Ellie Hankemeier, Rossview, Jr.: Hankemeier averaged nine points and six rebounds last season for the Lady Hawks.

Jayda Bernard, Stewarts Creek, Sr.: Bernard averaged close to a double-double last season at 10 points and eight rebounds per game.

Camden Ward, Stewarts Creek, Sr.: Like Bernard, Ward averaged 10 points and eight rebounds last season for the lady Red Hawks.

Brylee Fly, Wilson Central, So.: Fly broke onto the scene as a freshman averaging close to a double-double at nine points and six rebounds.
