What players from the 615 should be in the Miss Basketball conversations?

With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, postseason basketball is quickly approaching is the meeting to determine this year’s Mr. and Miss Basketball winners.

The state’s most coveted individual award, the Miss Basketball awards for each class are presented to the best of the best from all six classes for their work demonstrated from regular season play.

Several players from the 615 have been lucky enough to win the award in recent times and this year there are several players who have played well enough to win it for the respective class.

Yesterday we took a look at the area’s top boys prospects. Here’s a look at some girls players from the 615 who should be in those discussions based on information sent in from their coaches.

Class 4A

Cecilie Brandimore, Franklin, Sr.: Brandimore, a Missouri signee, plays even bigger than her 6’4” frame. She is a beast on the boards averaging 11.1 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks to go along with her 21.3 points per game clip.

Nyla Johnson, Nolensville, Jr.: Johnson is a scrappy point guard with excellent ball handling skills, great vision and tenacious defense. She averages 16 points, 3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3.0 Steals. 4.3 DFL 4.3 GPA for the Lady Panthers.

Amaya Nash, Rockvale, Sr.: Nash is a Dyersburg State signee, is a 1,000 point scorer for the Lady Rockets that is averaging 17.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks and shoots 75% from the free throw line.

KT Tolbert, Green Hill, So.: Tolbert, is a dominant force on the court. A small forward with point guard skills in DI-4A, she averages 19.5 points, 9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.5 steals while shooting 63.3% from the field and 45.5% from the three-point range. 

Class 3A

Jordan Brown, Maplewood, Sr.: Brown is a dual threat at the point guard position. Tough and quick in transition, she is quick and productive in the short range, but can hit the three ball from anywhere on the court. She averages 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 4.3 GPA for the Lady Panthers.

Kobe Cotton, Valor Collegiate Prep, Fr.: Cotton, is on pace to score her 1,000 career point as a freshman forward in D1-3A. She is averaging 21 points, 7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 5.4 steals in her freshman campaign for the Wildcats.

Class 2A

Abi Alexander, Cannon County, Sr.: Alexander, a Coastal Georgia signee, is a senior point guard and one of the most impactful players in DI-2A. She averages 12 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block and 2.3 steals and holds a 4.0 GPA for the Lions.

Emry Jones, Smith County, Jr.:  Jones is one of DI-AA’s top student-athletes, boasting a 3.775 GPA and is averaging 16.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.5 steals per game.

Kennedy Thornton, East Nashville, Sr.: Thornton , a Kentucky State Commitment, is a scoring gem at the combo guard in D1-2A, averaging 17.6 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. She is a 3X All District, All Region and 2025 District MVP.

Division II-AA

Ava Jarrett, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: Jarrett, a Western Carolina signee, a standout at guard in DII-AA, averages 20.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.4 steals while shooting 40% from three point range and 80% from the free throw line.

Lily Morrow, CPA, Sr.: Morrow is a versatile player at shooting guard or small forward averages 12 points, 2.5 assists, and 2 steals for the 19-2 CPA Lions.

Division II-A

Aniston Allgood, Nashville Christian, So.: Allgood, is a dynamic scorer, already surpassing 1,000 points in her second year playing forward for the Lady Eagles in DII-A. She averages 18.85 points, 9.95 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1 block and 2.0 steals.

Kayte Madison Bjornstad, PCA, Sr.: Bjornstad, a Samford University signee, is a force in DII-A, with 1700+ career points and a 4.0 GPA. She averages 20.4 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2 blocks while shooting 51% from the field and 79.3% from the free throw line. 

Jules Ferrell, MTCS, Jr.: Ferrell, a 1,000-point career scoring guard in DII-A, averages 20.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 3.7 steals while shooting 40.2% from three point range and 87% from the free throw line while maintaining a 3.94 GPA.

Brilee Price, Ezell Harding, Sr.: Price, an Austin Peay signee, is a 1,000-point scorer and the leader on a team that has achieved 4 straight 20-win seasons in DII-A. She averages 19.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 5.3 steals.

Ava Zenner, FRA, So.: Zenner holds multiple offers from programs throughout the South, all of them clamoring to get a point guard who attacks the lane like it’s something personal. Zenner averages 19.8 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds. A 45% shooter from the field and 40.8% shooter from three.
