With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, postseason basketball is quickly approaching is the meeting to determine this year’s Mr. and Miss Basketball winners.
The state’s most coveted individual award, the Mr. Basketball awards for each class are presented to the best of the best from all six classes for their work demonstrated from regular season play.
Several players from the 615 have been lucky enough to win the award in recent times and this year there are several players who have played well enough to win it for the respective class.
Here’s a look at some boys players from the 615 who should be in those discussions based on information sent in from their coaches.
Class 4A
Davis Cochran, Brentwood, Jr.: Cochran asserts himself as a force in the paint and on defense recording 23 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 3.2 steals per game.

Carter Ezell, Centennial, Sr.: A sharpshooter and all-around threat, Ezell averages 23.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.5 steals while shooting 77% from the free throw line and 38% from three.
Elliyon Kinzer, Smyrna, Sr.: Kinzer shines as a top scorer for the Bulldogs with 23.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and two steals per game.
Kaden Matthews, Smyrna, Sr.: Matthews coming from the same Smyrna squad as Kinzer steadily contributes 18.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, two steals and one block per game.
Cutter Sisk, Beech, Sr.: A Wofford pledge, Sisk is a walking double-double average 23.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game.

Class 3A
Jalen Chapman, Springfield, Jr.: Chapman makes his mark for the Yellow Jackets averaging 21 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals per game, consistently impacting the game on both sides of the floor.
Class 2A
Miles Alexander, Cannon County, So.: Alexander blends scoring and playmaking, putting up 18.6 points, 5.8 assists, three rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.
Lukas Phillips, Cannon County, Sr.: Phillips dominates both ends with 20.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, three assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
Avery Coles, White House Heritage, Sr.: A 2026 BCAT All-Star and scoring machine, Coles posts 22.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 71% from the field.

Class 1A
Camden Cole, Eagleville, Sr.: Leading an unbeaten Eagles team, Cole averages 17.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
Division II-AA
Cam Blivens, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: MVP of the Music City Hoopfest and a 2,000+ career point-scorer, Blivens averages 22.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

Osby Cavin, Pope John Paul II, Sr.:The Knights senior captain, Cavin does it all averaging 17.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
Trey Pearson, Pope John Paul II, Sr.: Pearson, High Point’s highest-rated commitment in history, fills the stat sheet with 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.8 steals per game while shooting 51%.

Bryson Wade, Brentwood Academy, Jr.: Wade, a class of 27’ guard delivers consistently on both ends, averaging 15 points, five rebounds and two steals per game
Division II-A
Jamal Culver, Ezell-Harding, Jr.: Culver’s a scoring machine for the Eagles averaging 18.9 points on 51% shooting while also averaging 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
Braylin Davis, USN, Sr.: The state’s second-leading scorer according to MaxPreps, Davis averages 31.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game.
Jacobi Morris, Goodpasture, Sr.: Morris orchestrates the offense with 15 points, five rebounds, 5.5 assists per game, while shooting 43% from three.
Lawson Lee, BGA, Sr.: Lee is a dominant force inside for the Wildcats averaging 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and three blocks per game.
Ali Tore, Ezell-Harding, Sr.: A dominant force down in the post for the Eagles, Tore averages 15 points and 13.6 rebounds per game game.
Chris Washington Jr., PCA, Sr.: The state’s top-ranked senior, Washington Jr. averages 19 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.
