Our sixth-annual All-615 Preps teams have been determined by our staff. This year’s Small Class teams are made up of players from teams in Class 3A, 2A, 1A and Division II-Class A.
This is the first group of postseason honors with Medium Class teams releasing on Tuesday and Large Class teams coming out on Wednesday.
This year’s postseason awards are presented by Gallatin Ford.
Team of the Year: Nashville Christian Eagles

The Eagles third gold ball winning team was by far their best as they were the first to finish the season unbeaten going 13-0.
While there were two close calls during that stretch, a 42-41 win over Ensworth and a 49-42 win over Tyner Academy, those were the only games the Eagles had any trouble in as they finished the year winning by an average of 38.1 points.
Player of the Year: Jared Curtis, Nashville Christian, Sr.

Curtis, a five-star Vanderbilt signee, missed a few games with an ankle injury but shined when he did play proving his status as the state’s top player.
He completed 66% of his passes for 2,073 yards and 36 touchdowns while only throwing six interceptions. On the ground he ran for 1,458 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Curtis capped his high school career throwing for five touchdowns and rushing in another in the Eagles 59-7 DII-A championship win over USJ.
Offensive Player of the Year: TJ Ward, Nashville Christian, Sr.

The other head of Nashville Christian’s two-headed monster on offense, hardly anyone had an answer for Ward in 2025.
In his first full season with the Eagles, he was a Mr. Football finalist and finished the season with 1,458 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground along with three receiving touchdowns. Ward ran for 100 or more yards eight times and scored a rushing touchdown in every game for the Eagles.
Defensive Player of the Year: Zach Groves, East Robertson, Sr.

Groves, a four-star Tennessee signee, capped off a prolific high school career as the 2025 Class 2A Mr. Football winner. He joined his older brother Isaiah who won the award in 2023.
That nod was well-deserved as Groves was a force up front recording 77 tackles, 20 quarterback hurries, 14 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception.
He was also one of the Indians best offensive options rushing for 675 yards and nine touchdowns.
Athlete of the Year: Hicks Hunter, Sycamore, Sr.

There isn’t a single thing Hicks hasn’t done on the field for the War Eagles during his high school career and this season showed that to a tee.
He was one of the area’s leading rushers with 1,607 yards and 20 touchdowns on 243 yards while also catching two touchdowns and throwing for another. On defense he racked up 49 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble, one fumble recovery and had a pick-six.
His work didn’t stop there though as he returned kicks and also had a punt returned for a touchdown.
Lineman of the Year: Kaden Buchanan, Friendship Christian, Jr.

Buchanan arrived on the scene as a sophomore and has just gotten better and better throughout the last two years.
The 6-foot-5, 332-pounder was at his best in 2025 anchoring an offensive line that helped the Commanders average 36.7 points on the year. Always a run-heavy team, Friendship Christian averaged 186.1 yards per game on the ground running mainly behind Buchanan.
This year they also added a passing element with the addition of Blake Waldorf. That passing attack added another 150 yards per game.
Special Teams Player of the Year: Jake Walker, Jo Byrns, Sr.

One look at Walker’s five makes out of 11 field goal attempts may raise an eyebrow or two but a deeper look into his season proves that Walker is not only one of the best small class kickers in the area, but one of the best in the state.
Walker’s five makes came from 27 yards, twice from 42 yards, 48 yards and an absurd 59-yarder against East Robertson that set a new school record.
He was also an efficient 43-of-46 on PATs and continually flipped the field with massive punts.
Coach of the Year: Lebron Ferguson, PCA

Ferguson took a young program that had never experienced postseason success to heights it had never experienced before in 2025.
The Lions set a program record in wins by going 9-3 and winning the Division II-A Middle Region title. That earned them a first round bye and they followed that up by beating Friendship Christian 41-40 for the program’s first postseason win.
