The 2025 high school football season kicks off on August 21st. To get ready for the upcoming season, we’re counting down the top 10 teams in the 615 Preps coverage area. FRA is our No. 8 team.
Justin Geisinger’s tenure at FRA since his arrival in 2022 has produced nothing but winning season after winning for the Panthers.
FRA went from a program that struggling to buy wins to one that’s produced 10+ win seasons each of the last years including back-to-back semifinal appearances.
Now in Year 4 and with a team built around a solid core of juniors, the Panthers appear to be a team ready to take that next step forward as a legitimate state title contender.
“We have a talented group of kids,” Geisinger said. “We’re thin in the senior class with only seven which is the smallest we’ve had. However, it’s a close group that’s played a lot of football in and bought into what we’re doing.
…this preseason has gone well and the guys are working hard to fill holes. We lost a good senior class from last year and have some positions to fill but it’s good for our team to battle through some adversity.”

Junior class set to take next step forward
Headlining that core group of juniors is rising four-star safety Omarii Sanders.
A top-100 prospect in the 2027 class, Sanders burst onto the scene as a sophomore racking up 82 tackles, five tackles for loss, and four picks. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, Sanders appears to be ready for a junior season that sees him feature a lot on both sides of the ball.
Two-way senior athlete Mike Hassell will lead that core group of juniors that feature others like Cam Glenn and Keilan Neal.
“I’m just looking forward to getting back out there and doing what I think what we’re supposed to do,” Sanders said. “The end of last season left a bad taste in our mouth because we didn’t play our best in that game against BGA. We missed tackles and did things that weren’t so now we’re ready to make that right this season.
Quarterback battle continues to heat up
One thing that the Panthers will have to figure out this season is the quarterback position. Gone is last year’s starter Roman Mahlerwein and now it appears a battle is brewing between sophomore Jack Nimitz and Pope John Paul II transfer Hudson Holman.
Holman transferred to FRA ahead of junior season following a pair of standout years with the Knights. Between his sophomore and freshman years Holman completed 57% of his passes for 2,879 yards and 31 touchdowns.
