The postseason inches closer and closer. For some schools next week it will arrive. Others, they’ve got a few more games left to play.
There were also a few results last week that provided some changes in this week’s area rankings.
Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA.
Here’s a look at the top 20 teams in our area entering the fifth week of the season.
Large Class
1. Blackman (19-2): The Lady Blaze just keep rolling. They upped their winning streak to 15 games by beating Riverdale 64-45 and Oakland 63-42.
2. Lipscomb Academy (22-3): Ava Jarrett knocked down a three as time expired to lift the Lady Mustangs past Harpeth Hall 36-35. A few days later they upped their winning streak to 10 games by beating Father Ryan 44-35.
3. Clarksville (19-1): Down go the Lady Wildcats. Losing to Rossview 47-44, they suffered their first regular season district loss in two seasons.
4. Lebanon (18-6): After beating Smyrna by 52, the Devilettes picked up a marquee win. That win came in the form of a 67-58 home victory against Cookeville.
5. Nolensville (22-2): The Lady Knights back on top of District 10-4A. They rolled past Centennial 61-40 and got revenge against Page with a 44-42 road win.

Small Class
1. Ezell-Harding (22-3): Winners of seven straight and 11 of their last 12 games, the Lady Eagles closed out the regular season on a strong note. They beat Friendship Christian 55-18 and Goodpasture 41-39 to claim the district title.
2. Providence Christian (18-4): A season sweep over The Webb School was not in store for the Lady Lions. Down in the fourth, Webb rallied to pick up the 53-51 road win.
3. East Nashville (20-1): Neither Kipp nor Stratford posed much of a threat to the Lady Eagles. They rolled KIPP 69-6 and closed the regular season out with a 72-23 win over Stratford.
4. Nashville Christian (21-4): It was a tale of two games for the Lady Eagles. After beating Clarksville Academy by 31, they held on for a narrow 45-40 win over DCA.
5. Goodpasture (17-5): DCA also gave the Lady Cougars a test but they also held on winning 57-51. The same could not be said for their next game losing at home to Ezell-Harding by two.
