District play is in full-swing now and the first week and a half of play has brought about several changes in this week’s large and small class girls basketball rankings.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA.

Here’s a look at the top 20 teams in our area entering the fifth week of the season.

Large Class

1. Nolensville (15-1): The start of district play hasn’t been too much of a challenge for the Lady Knights. They beat up on Centennial 62-13 before doing much of the same to Ravenwood in a 56-15 win.

2. Clarksville (12-0): Malon Smith led the Lady Wildcats in each of their wins. She scored 18 in the 42-31 win over LaVergne and 22 in the 41-28 win over Kirkwood.

3. Blackman (12-2): Make it nine wins in a row now for the Lady Blaze. Last week they beat Columbia 66-31 and Stewarts Creek 56-36.

4. Lebanon (10-5): Who’s the best girls team in Williamson County? The Devilettes may have laid claim to that take beating Mt. Juliet 58-44 and Green Hill 58-28.

5. Brentwood (11-3): Arguably no player around had a better week than Ella Ryan. She scored 26 in the Lady Bruins’ 67-57 win over Page and 40 in their 74-63 win over Franklin.
