Week 3 has come and gone and now we’re looking ahead to Week 4. Three weeks into the season we’ve got a good idea on who the contenders and the pretenders are.
Heading into the fourth week of the season, most of our top area teams have started to set themselves apart.
The 615 Preps staff has put together a list of the top five large, medium, and small class teams in our coverage area following last week’s action.
Large Class teams include 6A and Division II-AAA. Medium Class teams include 5A, 4A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 3A, 2A, 1A, and Division II-A, and each grouping has roughly 30 teams in it.

4. Macon County (2-1): The Tigers looked to be well on their way to a bigIwin over Upperman after leading by multiple scores early on. That was not meant to be as the Bees rallied, took the lead and a missed PAT resulted in a 35-34 loss for the Tigers. Up next: at Smith County (0-3)
5. Beech (2-1): Their offense may still be struggling but in a torrential downpour, the Bucs didn’t need it to be great. They did enough to beat Riverdale 7-0 and get back in the win column. Up next: at Portland (2-1)
Dropped out: None. Who just missed out: FRA (3-0), Pearl-Cohn (1-2)
