The 615 Preps crew draft their three favorite uniforms

0 0

With so many teams in our coverage area, we’re lucky enough to see some of the best uniform combos in the entire state. What schools have the best ones though?

Our crew held a snake draft and picked which uniform combos we though looked the best to us from around the area.

Check out each of our picks below and why they picked each.

LOOKING AHEAD TO WEEK 1: The top 10 games in the 615 Preps coverage area for Week 1

DRAFTS: Top Coaches / Top Stadiums

Round 1

KJ, Page (Blackout): Page football’s all-black uniform with red numbers creates a bold and striking contrast that stands out on the field. The addition of the American flag on the shoulders adds a patriotic touch, reflecting a clean and powerful look.

Joe, Ravenwood (Blackout): KJ took my top pick as Page has my favorite all-black look but Ravenwood follows behind in a very close second. I think the Raptors overall have the best color scheme of any team in the area and their blackout shows that perfectly.

Scott, James Lawson (Powder Blue tops): When I stepped on the field for the Lightning’s first game, I was thunderstruck by how clean their Columbia blue unis were. We’ve seen the combination done before but not with with the navy number and letting.

Cam, Pearl-Cohn (Whiteout): Who doesn’t love the cleanliness of an all white uniform? Pearl Cohn perfects the look with a jet black helmet with the infamous firebird logo. When it comes to the best uniforms in the 615, this is easy.

Isaac, Fairview (Neon Yellow): This is a jersey you either love or hate. For me, it is the best uniform in our coverage area. The bright highlighter yellow with the crazy Yellowjacket eye make for the most recognizable threads in the state.

Chris, CPA (Purple tops): A classic look for the Lions, their purple tops paired with the gold helmet and white pants is such a crisp, clean look that doesn’t need any frills to make it one of the best looking sets around.

Round 2

Chris, Lebanon (Blue tops): Another look I love is a white helmet, blue jersey and white pants – and Lebanon nails that perfectly.

Isaac, Green Hill (Whiteout): To me, a clean all white uniform is the best looking set a team can have. Green Hill adds onto this sleek look with a great pair of contrasting greens. The font on the jerseys and the classic Nike shoulder stripes make this my favorite all white set in our area.

Cam, Macon County (USA theme): Every school loves their school colors but we all love our country’s colors. Macon County channels their patriotic side with their white lids with the American flag as their MC logo. They are truly inspiring, and I can’t wait to see the next twist they do with it.

Scott, MJCA (Blackout): The Saints use an unusual combo of black and royal blue but set it off with yellow and white trim. The white strip down the leg with the blue “Saints” is a statement.

Joe, Summit (Whiteout): My two favorite uniform combos in football are an all-black look or the Stormtrooper all-white. While several teams around here have a great all-white combo, there’s just something about Summit’s that really sticks out to me the most.

Summit’s all-white uniforms bring back memories of the Sparatans’ dominant run from 2019-2022.

KJ, Beech (Whiteout): As a player that rocked the “icy white” Beech uniform it is fair to say it was my favorite uniform combination we had. The white jersey with the navy blue numbers along with the white pants with orange and blue stripes. Just great combination.

Round 3

KJ, Springfield (Gold tops): Springfields gold jerseys are absolutely beautiful, giving that old school feel. One thing that makes football special is a good retro feeling and that is why these jerseys stick out to me.

Joe, Oakland (Light blue tops): It’s not their typical look, but I think Oakland should rock their light blue jerseys and script helmets significantly more. It’s a combo that works perfectly and is easily one of the best not only in our area but in the entire state.

Scott, Liberty Creek (Light blue tops, white pants): The blight blue with stripes on the shoulder gives this a throwback 70’s vibe. I think they do a great job minimizing the red and put it in spots that really let it pop. Overall, this is a really cool look.

Cam, Hillsboro (Green tops): Tradition is an underrated quality in schools these days, but I love traditions. When you think iconic traditional uniforms in the 615, the Burros’ green and gold Michigan type look is as noticeable as any other. Even Joe would agree the look is way better in green and gold.

Isaac, Watertown (White tops, purple pants): Call me a homer but I don’t care, my alma mater has the best purple uniforms in the state. Under Armor makes my favorite jerseys, and when they’re my favorite color of purple it’s a match made in heaven.

Chris, Brentwood (Light blue tops): You don’t see a lot of true throwbacks, but since Brentwood began busting out the light blue jerseys recently, pairing them with their traditional gold helmets gives the Bruins that classic UCLA look that’s unmistakable.
