Tennessee has its second pledge in its 2026 class and Josh Heupel didn’t have to look to far to get him.

DCA standout tight end Carson Sneed announced his commitment to the Volunteers Monday night. Sneed chose Tennessee over Auburn, Louisville, Ohio State and Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder is ranked as a four-star prospect by three of the four major recruiting outlets. On3’s Industry Recruiting ranking has him as the No. 174 player in the country, the No. 9 tight end and the No. 4 player in the state.

Rivals has the highest ranking for Sneed. The site ranks him No. 75 nationally, the No. 5 tight end and No. 2 player in the state.

Since picking up an offer from Tennessee last March, Sneed’s been a frequent visitor in Knoxville.

He’s gone to campus 10 times total. Last season alone he attended games against UTSA (Sept. 23), South Carolina (Sept. 30), Texas A&M (Oct. 14) and Georgia (Nov. 18).

Sneed joins a 2026 class highlighted by the nation’s No. 1 quarterback recruit in Faizon Brandon. The standout from Greensboro, North Carolina announced his commitment to the Vols over the weekend.

Recruiting in-state talent is also nothing new for Josh Heupel.

The Vols currently have five in-state pledges in their 2025 class highlighted by top-70 quarterback George MacIntyre and Ensworth defensive lineman Ethan Utley.
