Most of the top-ranked teams held their ground last week with several having the week off, and others winning their respective contests as fall break wraps up around the area.

The 615 Preps staff has put together a list of the top 10 large, medium, and small class teams in our coverage area. Large Class teams include the 29 Class 6A and Division II-AAA teams in our coverage area. Medium Class teams include 5A, 4A, and Division II-AA, totaling 25 squads. Small Class teams include 3A, 2A, 1A, and Division II-A, which contain 29 teams.

Large Class

1. Riverdale (8-1, 6-0 Region 3-6A)

Change: No change (last week: 1st) | Last week: 54-21 win vs. Rockvale | This week: vs. Oakland
The Battle of the Boro carries as much weight as it has in quite some time. The Warriors have dropped 16 of the last 17 meetings against Oakland, with the lone win since 2012 coming in the 2023 regular season finale.

2. Brentwood Academy (7-2, 4-0 DII-AAA West Region)

Change: No change (last week: 2nd) | Last week: 45-7 win vs. Father Ryan | This week: vs. Lipscomb Academy
The Eagles play their third consecutive home game with another one ensured, but they’d like to have it it in two weeks instead of one. That means winning the region title is at the top of their to-do list this week.

3. Oakland (8-1, 5-1 Region 3-6A)

Change: No change (last week: 3rd) | Last week: 42-0 win at Stewarts Creek | This week: at Riverdale
Perhaps no team’s playoff travel budget could be more affected by one result than Oakland’s – A journey back to the state title game could require four road playoff games if they lose Friday, while a win would cut that potential number to one. Plenty of incentive to take down the region title.

4. MBA (8-1, 3-1 DII-AAA East Region)

Change: No change (last week: 4th) | Last week: 31-28 win vs. McCallie | This week: vs. Ensworth
A home playoff game and a first-round bye are at stake for the Big Red, who actually trail Ensworth 14-12 in their all-time series.

5. Antioch (9-0, 5-0 Region 5-6A)

Change: No change (last week: 5th) | Last week: 26-7 win vs. Clarksville | This week: vs. Rossview
Antioch still has business to take care of, as capping off their first undefeated regular season would net them the region title and homefield advantage for at least the first two rounds.

6. (tie) Lipscomb Academy (no change, last week: 6th)
6. (tie) Brentwood (up 1 spot, 7th)
8. Green Hill (up 2 spots, 10th)
9. Ravenwood (down 1 spot, 8th)
10. Smyrna (unranked)
Just missed: Lebanon, Ensworth
Dropped out this week: none

Medium Class

1. BGA (8-1, 5-0 DII-AA Middle Region)

Change: No change (last week: 1st) | Last week: 49-0 win vs. Goodpasture | This week: at Grace Christian
It’s Hank Bloomfield’s offense to run now, and he seems to be just fine doing so. That’s a scary proposition for the rest of the AA field that thought they saw an opening before last week.

2. Nolensville (9-0, 3-0 Region 5-5A)

Change: No change (last week: 2nd) | Last week: 28-3 win at Rossview | This week: vs. Page
The Knights are 9-0 for the first time since 2022, when they beat Page for the region title. Could history repeat itself four years later?

3. FRA (6-3, 4-1 DII-AA Middle Region)

Change: No change (last week: 3rd) | Last week: 49-14 win vs. Grace Christian | This week: vs. Columbia Academy
The Panthers would like to finish the regular season with back-to-back wins for the first time since September 18, though their playoff seed is already locked in at this point.

4. Beech (8-1, 3-0 Region 6-4A)

Change: No change (last week: 4th) | Last week: 44-7 win at Portland | This week: at Hendersonville
Another week, another October bus ride for the Buccaneers, who make a short business trip to the other side of Hendersonville for the Battle for Drakes Creek.

5. Page (8-1, 3-0 Region 5-5A)

Change: No change (last week: 5th) | Last week: 41-0 win at Hillsboro | This week: at Nolensville
Page enters Week 11 with its defense playing shutdown football over the past month, only allowing three points in four games during that span. Like this week’s opponent, the Patriots also have four shutout wins this year.

Rest of the top 10

6. Pearl-Cohn (no change, last week: 6th)
7. Springfield (no change, 7th)
8. Macon County (up 1 spot, 9th)
9. Liberty Creek (up 1 spot, 10th)
10. Goodpasture (down 2 spots, 8th)
Just missed: Station Camp
Dropped out this week: none

Small Class

1. East Robertson (9-0, 3-0 Region 6-2A)

Change: No change (last week: 1st) | Last week: 41-11 win at Greenwood (Ky.) | This week: vs. East Nashville
Prior to 2022, East Robertson had only managed three 10-win seasons in school history. A win on Friday would clinch their fifth consecutive year with double-digit victories.

2. Nashville Christian (7-2, 5-0 Division II-A Middle Region)

Change: No change (last week: 2nd) | Last week: 40-6 win at Ezell-Harding | This week: at Friendship Christian
The roads (and potential road trips) could be vastly different for the winner of the Eagles’ tilt with Friendship Christian. The winner has home-field advantage throughout the postseason (as well as a first-round bye), while the loser may only get one home playoff game in the first round.

3. Friendship Christian (8-1, 5-0 DII-A Middle Region)

Change: No change (last week: 3rd) | Last week: 42-8 win vs. Mt. Juliet Christian | This week: vs. Nashville Christian
They haven’t played consistently over the years, but Friendship Christian has won two of the three most recent meetings over the past four years, including the 2022 state championship game.

4. East Nashville (6-3, 3-0 Region 6-2A)

Change: No change (last week: 4th) | Last week: 49-9 win at Houston County | This week: at East Robertson
The Eagles remember how last year’s meeting with East Robertson went and are bound to not let history repeat itself. The Region 6 winner gets home-field advantage through the quarterfinals, so they’ve love nothing more than to take that for themselves.

5. Gordonsville (8-1, 3-0 Region 4-2A)

Change: No change (last week: 5th) | Last week: 47-0 win at Red Boiling Springs | This week: at Smith County
The Tigers know their playoff seeding already, but with a rivalry game on the road this week, they’ll not want to take anything for granted against a Smith County team playing for bragging rights this week.

Rest of the top 10

6. Fairview (no change, last week: 6th)
7. Whites Creek (no change, 7th)
8. Middle Tennessee Christian School (no change, 8th)
9. Cannon County (unranked)
10. Donelson Christian Academy (down 1 spot, 9th)
Just missed: Westmoreland, Cheatham County
Dropped out this week: none
