It was hard to imagine a more chaotic week than Week 3 provided, and Week 4 saw more stability among the top teams. Despite their loss to Milton (Ga.), BGA held on to the top spot among our collective voters.

The 615 Preps staff has put together a list of the top 10 large, medium, and small class teams in our coverage area. Large Class teams include the 29 Class 6A and Division II-AAA teams in our coverage area. Medium Class teams include 5A, 4A, and Division II-AA, totaling 25 squads. Small Class teams include 3A, 2A, 1A, and Division II-A, which contain 29 teams.

Large Class

1. Riverdale (3-1, 2-0 Region 3-6A)

Change: None (last week: 1st) | Last week: 56-0 win vs. LaVergne | This week: vs. Stewarts Creek
Riverdale rolled past LaVergne to keep their place atop the list this week and the Warriors can take pride in having outscored opponents 153-36 through four games.

2. Oakland (3-1, 0-1 Region 3-6A)

Change: None (last week: 2nd) | Last week: 29-28 win at Pearl-Cohn | This week: vs. Siegel
The Patriots were a missed field goal away from a second consecutive loss, but they managed to survive a tough trip to Pearl-Cohn. They’re done with non-region games for now and will try to climb back into the region title race.

3. MBA (4-0, 0-0 DII-AAA East Region)

Change: None (last week: 3rd) | Last week: 22-21 win at Briarcrest Christian | This week: vs. Knoxville Catholic
Henri Perry’s game-winning field goal kept the Big Red perfect and they get a tough Knoxville Catholic team this week looking to also stay perfect.

4. Brentwood Academy (2-2, 0-0 DII-AAA West Region)

Change: None (last week: 4th) | Last week: 31-23 loss vs. St. Joseph’s Prep (Pa.) | This week: vs. Lift For Life Academy (Mo.)
It might not be the start record-wise the Eagles envisoned, but their first region game isn’t until next week, either. Two losses to quality teams isn’t a killer.

Change: None (last week: 5th) | Last week: 21-20 loss vs. Knoxville Catholic | This week: vs. MUS
The Mustangs have two losses by a combined four points, but with all the carnage around them in the rankings, they managed to hold their ground with region play starting for them this week.

3. FRA (3-1, 1-0 DII-AA Middle Region)

Change: No change (last week: 3rd) | Last week: 64-7 win at JPII | This week: vs. Davidson Academy

Change: Down 2 spots (last week: 2nd) | Last week: 20-14 loss at Brentwood | This week: at Henry County
