Who are some of the area’s notable transfers on offense this offseason?

The transfer portal has affected several teams in our coverage area, so it’s interesting to take a look at how the new kids on their prospective blocks could benefit their new teams.
This is the second installment of our 2026 Preview Series. We’ll take a look at defensive transfers on Friday.

Quarterbacks
Rhys Barnett, Centennial – The Cougars get a fresh start under head coach Chad Broadrick, and so does sophomore quarterback Rhys Barnett, who takes his skills four miles away from Franklin over to Mallory Lane.
Chase Bell, Blackman – Bell is a tall signal caller with a rocket arm transferring in from South Warren (Ky.) to Blackman. He should thrive under Will Hester and is surrounded by talented players.
Nate Dye, Lebanon – The junior transfer from Station Camp gets his chance at the helm in Lebanon. With Gyan Ezeta in the backfield and talented receiver Gavin Gregory to throw to, he could have a big year.
Jonathan Fredericks II, Stratford – Frederick leaves Hillsboro to get a fresh start at Stratford. He’ll get his chance to impact the Spartans under first-year coach Jerald Cook.
Miles Teague, Lipscomb Academy – Miles Teague was limited due to injury last season at Blackman. He should find new life in Dilfer’s offensive schemes as they generally draw out the best in his quarterbacks.
Running Backs
Nathaniel Brogdon, Friendship Christian – Brogdon split time in the Green Hill backfield with Zachary Cartwright last season, tallying 431 yards and seven scores. Now he moves over to Friendship Christian, where he will share duties with Ryder Wolcott. But if there is one thing that head coach John McNeal knows how to do, it’s maximize his running backs to get the best from both.
Lionel Brooks, Franklin Christian Academy – Brooks amassed 1,594 yards rushing on 203 carries last year, scoring 12 rushing TDs and was named the Region 5-4A Offensive Player of the Year for Spring Hill last year. He brings his 200-pound power/speed combo over to the Falcons, who lost several skill players after their first-ever playoff run.
Jamarcus Brown, Rockvale – Another Rutherford County switch, Brown only played in four games last year but totaled 51 yards and nine scores. He will bring a power presence to the Rockets running game.
Marcus Cantrell, Goodpasture – “Boobie,” as he is known, provided most of the running game for JPII last year. Now he has moved down the road to the Cougars, who just graduated their bell cow back in Caden Stroud. Cantrell should blossom in head coach Tyler Turner’s offense, especially working with quarterback Chase Angell and wideout Slim Leavell.
Jacob Vaughn, Oakland – The 1,000-yard rusher leaves cross-town rival Riverdale to join the defending 6A state champions. He is a “home run hitter” who can catch out of the backfield and will open up Kevin Creasy’s passing attack.
Wide Receivers
Gavin Johnson, Riverdale – The speedy and sure-handed Johnson joins the Warriors from Centennial. Johnson caught 43 passes for 737 yards and 11 touchdowns last year.
Braylon Odour, Riverdale – Joining Johnson, the Auburn commitment goes across town from Blackman to Riverdale and will work with head coach Will Kriesky and quarterback Gavin Hampton. He should get a lot of attention from opposing defenses, but that is nothing new for the big receiver.
Drew Rempel, Lipscomb Academy – Rempel was the second leading receiver for Page in their championship season, and now he rejoins the Mustangs’ offense for his senior season. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver will be a big target in Dilfer’s offense and a reliable target for quarterback Miles Teague.
Dylan Streeter, Page – Streeter caught 11 balls for 64 yards in his sophomore stint with CPA. Now he takes that 6-foot-3 frame to Rudderville, where he will be a primary target for Cam Kruse.
Micah Graves, East Nashville – Graves was a standout on Maplewood’s squad last year. A speedy receiver who runs a 4.46 40-yard dash, Graves caught 35 passes for 635 yards and four scores. That total could expand this year with Dallas Covington throwing him the ball.
Tight Ends
Sutton Gutting, Riverdale – The senior Mississippi State commitment joins an offense that may very well be the best assortment of talent in the state. At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, the former Ravenwood Raptor runs a 4.7-second 40-yard dash. It will be interesting to see how he gets acquainted with his quarterback, seeing as how they will both be headed to Starkville soon enough.
Gregory Kirwan, Lipscomb Academy – The 6-foot-5 232-pound, beast from the northeast comes to the Mustangs from North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Holding numerous Division 1 offers, Kirwan caught 31 balls last year for 471 yards and two scores for the Skippers.
Judah Lancaster, Brentwood Academy – The IMG Academy transfer and South Carolina commitment should fit in well with Paul Wade’s scheme. This is a 6-foot-5 target that catches the ball well and finishes his blocks with a vengeance.
Clarence Snodgrass, Nashville Christian – It didn’t take long for college programs to notice when this 6-foot-3 tight end transferred from Clarksville Academy to Nashville Christian. Snodgrass is a big target but has a wide receiver’s ability to make teams miss. He also has really good hands and should find a lot of success in Jeff Brothers’ offense.
Stone Trainer, JPII – The former MBA tight end comes to a JPII team that is in need of weapons. Trainer, at 6-foot-1, is somewhat undersized for a tight end at but his physicality more than makes up for it.
Offensive Linemen
Kendall Brooks, Antioch – At 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, Kendall Brooks is hard to miss on the field. He joins the Bears from East Nashville, where he spent the last two seasons protecting Dallas Covington. He will make an immediate impact protecting Andre Adams’ blind side.
Rance Brown, Brentwood Academy – The 6-foot-6, 290-pound tackle from Southside High in Alabama will be a fixture at one of the tackle positions. Head coach Paul Wade has two anchors to protect Crews Jenkins. Brown has committed to Auburn.
AJ Hartless, Friendship Christian – Hartless leaves Davidson Academy for the Commanders where he will be a big cog in John McNeal’s offensive scheme. At 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, he joins a road grader crew that could grind themselves to Chattanooga.
Li’Marcus Jones, Brentwood Academy – The former Callaway (Miss.) standout stands 6-foot-5 and 285 pounds. Jones, a Colorado commitment, joins Brown at the other tackle spot and should create massive holes for Larry Sanders.
Bryson Taylor, Liberty Creek – The junior played his first two seasons at JPII before crossing Long Hollow Pike to the Wolfpack. A two-way player if head coach Bill Alexander chooses, Taylor has nimble feet despite his 6-foot-1, 300-pound frame.
