Kayte Madison Bjornstad headlines 2025-2026 615 Preps All-Area small class girls basketball teams

We’re putting a bow on the high school basketball season with some all-area team selections.

Earlier we released the girls large class teams. Now it’s time to look at the standouts from the area’s small class programs.

The 615 Preps small class coverage area includes teams in Division II-A as well as Classes 2A and 1A.

Players selected to these teams are selected based on their season-long stats and nominations from their head coaches. Here’s a look at those selected to the 615 Preps girls small class teams.

Player of the Year: Kayte Madison Bjornstad, PCA, Sr.

PCA’s Kayte Mdison Bjornstad (23)

A Miss Basketball finalist and state champion to end her high school career, Bjornstad was at her best this season. She averaged 20.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.

In PCA’s 25-point semifinal win over TKA, Bjornstad scored 20 points and grabbed nine boards. Against USJ she was just as good scoring 17 points and eight rebounds.

Coach of the Year: Terri Brock, Gordonsville

After going 11-18 with the Tigerettes her first season, Brock turned the program into one that made it back to Murfreesboro for the first time since 1999.

Gordonsville finished the season 29-5, their most wins since the late 1990’s while also going unbeaten in district and region play. In their 29 wins the Tigerettes won by an average of 20.1 points.

Team of the Year: PCA Lady Lions

The Lady Lions ended the year on top of the Division II-A field for the first time since their first state title win. They finished the year 28-5 and beat USJ by 11 in the DII-A championship game.

In their six-game winning streak to close out the season, the Lady Lions won each game by double digits and won by an average of 17.3 points.

Guard: Brilee Price, Ezell-Harding, Sr.

Wing: Ella Johnson, FRA, So.

Forward: Kaylen Kenney, Ezell-Harding, Sr.

Sixth: Valencia Hailey, Pearl-Cohn, So.

Second Team

Guard: Kennedy Thornton, East Nashville, Sr.

Guard: Ava Zenner, FRA, So.

Guard: Jade Watson, MTCS, Jr.

Wing: Aaliyah Dixon, Ezell-Harding, Fr.

Forward: Aniston Allgood, Nashville Christian, Jr.

Sixth: Emry Jones, Smith County, Jr.
