Who are the top girls programs in the 615 entering 2026?

That’s the question we posed to our staff as we began to prepare our first full rankings entering the new year. Based on the average of their selections, we came to a conclusion.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 2A, 1A, and Division II-A.

Here’s a look at the top 10 large and small class girls programs in our area entering the first full week of January.

Large Class

1. Green Hill (15-0): The Lady Hawks have been the definition of efficient through their first 15 games winning by an average of 25.7 points. Sophomore Kataira Tolbert’s been the star of the show averaging 19.7 points and nine rebounds.

2. Ensworth (9-1): Alana Wells and Nori Jamison are both averaging just over 12 points for a balanced Lady Tigers squad. A loss to USJ is all that’s keeping them from being unbeaten.

3. Pope John Paul II (11-0): Led by junior Brooke Dyer, the Lady Knights are off to their best start in recent memory. Dyer scored a season-high 32 points in their recent win over Ravenwood.

4. CPA (13-1): Up until Saturday the Lady Lions had been perfect through their first portion of the year. They struggled though losing to Ensworth 58-37 to kick off district play.

5. Page (9-5): A fairly young team, the Lady Patriots have played a gauntlet of a schedule to start the year with all of their losses coming to out of state programs. They do have a marquee win over a former district foe in Nolensville.

6. Lebanon (12-3)

7. Blackman (10-3)

8. Nolensville (11-3)

9. Lipscomb Academy (15-3)

10. Beech (13-3)

Small Class

1. Ezell-Harding (16-0): Brilee Price and Laila Willis lead a potent Lady Eagles roster that’s found ways to win in all sorts of ways. Whether it’s in blowout fashion or last-second nail-biters, they’ve continually found ways keep a zero in the loss column.

2. MTCS (12-1): For anyone wondering how good the Lady Cougars are this year, their only loss is by nine points to the defending three-time Class 4A state champions in Bradley Central. They’ve since steamrolled nearly every other team they’ve played this season.

3. PCA (8-4): Once again the Lady Lions appear to be in the mix for the DII-A title as they’ve come through an early season gauntlet that included COA, Lipscomb Academy and several out-of-state programs.

4. FRA (10-3): Sophomore phenoms Ella Johnson and Ava Zenner have the Lady Panthers off to one of the program’s best starts in recent memory with notable wins over DCA and Harpeth Hall.

5. DCA (11-2): After an up-and-down year last season, the Lady Wildcats have hit a new gear under new head coach Dustin Patton. Entering the heart of district play, they’re just three wins away from matching last season’s total.
