Unlike last week, Mother Nature played no factor in how games were played in Week 4.
While many teams took care of a business, there were some shockers regarding our top area teams while some others impressed even in a loss.
The 615 Preps staff has put together a list of the top five large, medium, and small class teams in our coverage area following last week’s action. This rankings are based off of results, head-to-head matchups and current form for teams.
Large Class teams include 6A and Division II-AAA. Medium Class teams include 5A, 4A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 3A, 2A, 1A, and Division II-A, and each grouping has roughly 30 teams in it.
Large Class
1. Oakland (4-0): In a 38-6 win over Pearl-Cohn, the Patriots limited the Firebirds to negative yardage on the ground. Freshman quarterback Kam Morton threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
2. Brentwood Academy (3-0): Another week, another blowout win for the Eagles. This time they traveled to Chattanooga Christian and rolled to a 38-6 victory.
3. Ravenwood (4-0): Maverick Chance accounted for three total touchdowns and Femi Babalola threw for a pair and 134 yards in a dominant 50-0 win over Summit.
4. Ensworth (3-1): The biggest win of the week belonged to the Tigers. Thanks to a punishing ground game and another stout defensive performance, they got some revenge against the two-time defending DII-AAA champions beating McCallie 20-10.
5. Blackman (4-0): It was another stout defensive showing for the Blaze in a 42-7 win over Nolensville. Their secondary stole the show recording three interceptions in the win.
