Franklin Christian Academy hires Darrin Joines as boys’ basketball coach

Darrin Joines is returning to the bench after spending six seasons as Williamson County Schools athletic director.

Franklin Christian Academy announced Joines as its new boys’ basketball head coach on Friday, as he’ll lead the Falcons in their first season as a TSSAA member school. He will also become the school’s associate athletic director.

Joines spent the last six years leading the Williamson County Schools’ athletic department after a three-year stint at Franklin, where he posted a 71-24 record with two sectional appearances and a trip to the state tournament in 2019.

Prior to taking the Franklin job, Joines spent 20 seasons at Beech, amassing a 308-189 record leading the Buccaneers in 16 years as a head coach from 2000 through 2016. Prior to leading the boys’ squad, Joines was a girls’ assistant coach at Beech for four seasons.

The Buccaneers made a pair of Class AAA state tournament appearances during his tenure, which also included seven District 9-AAA regular season and tournament titles, one Region 5-AAA championship, and three sectional appearances.
