615 Preps Football: 30 returning pass-catchers to know in 2025

Spring has arrived, meaning we’re just a few short months away from the 2025 high school football kicking off. That means it’s a perfect time for some preview action to prepare you for the upcoming season.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll have pieces twice a week highlighting certain position groups and the top area players in those groups to keep an eye on in the new season.

These lists will include area players who were statistically some of the area’s best in 2024. All submissions were also sent in with stats provided by their coaches.

Over the last few days, we’ve released our top quarterbacks and running backs. Now it’s time to focus on the last skill position group on offense.

Here are 30 returning Nashville area pass-catchers you need to keep an eye on during the 2024 season:

Brandon Goliday, Antioch, Sr.: Goliday is a dynamic all-purpose weapon, racking up 47 catches for 763 yards and five touchdowns last season. He also contributed with 102 rushing yards and 233 return yards, showcasing his versatility.

Max Curry, BGA, So.: As an All-Region selection, Curry was a key target with 29 receptions for 308 yards and three touchdowns.

Kesean Bowman-Sims, Brentwood Academy, Jr.: Bowman-Sims is a dominant force with 56 catches for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns, making him one of the most feared receivers in the state.

Eli Ferguson, Brentwood Academy, Jr.: Ferguson has been a consistent contributor with 31 catches for 385 yards and three touchdowns. His return provides Brentwood Academy with a dependable target to complement their explosive offense.

Jones Merrill, Brentwood, Jr.: A Region 6-6A All-Region selection, Merrill posted 23 receptions for 237 yards and demonstrated his ability to make key plays.

Jaxsen Miles, Cannon County, Sr.: Miles had a solid junior season with 23 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns.

Owen Cabell, CPA, Sr.: A standout receiver with multiple college offers, Cabell registered 43 receptions for 973 yards and 13 touchdowns, becoming one of the most dangerous targets in the area.

Josh Bolden, Davidson Academy, Sr.: Bolden was the Bears’ top receiver last season accumulating 34 receptions for 810 yards and nine touchdowns along with a rushing touchdown. He also accounted in nearly every other phase of the game recording 34 tackles, 11 pass breakups and an interception on defense to go along with a kickoff and punt return for touchdowns.

Grayson Scragg, DCA, Sr.: Scragg had an explosive season with 57 receptions for 1,137 yards and 21 touchdowns. On defense, he accounted for 18 tackles and a pair of interceptions including one returned for a touchdown.

Carson Sneed, DCA, Sr.: A true two-way threat, Sneed finished the season with 34 receptions for 419 yards and 6 touchdowns. The Tennessee tight end commitment also added 46 tackles and three sacks on defense.

Cam Wade, East Nashville, Sr.: Wade was a multi-threat playmaker for the Eagles with 23 receptions for 670 yards and nine touchdowns, 665 rushing yards and two rushing scores, and three kickoffs returned for touchdowns.

Cade Brooks, East Robertson, Sr.: Brooks tallied 39 receptions for 607 yards and six touchdowns while also contributing 650 rushing yards, seven rushing touchdowns and two interceptions.

Zay Groves, East Robertson, Sr.: Groves was a terrific wideout for the Indians, catching 19 passes for 457 yards and seven touchdowns.

Cayden Lee, Fairview, Sr.: Lee brought reliability to the Fairview offense, with 28 receptions for 360 yards and five touchdowns.

Demetrius Sain, Ezell-Harding, Jr.: Sain’s impressive all-around play included 29 receptions for 525 yards, a receiving touchdown, 101 rushing yards, and 30 tackles on defense.

Jayden Rush, FRA, Sr.: A first-team All-State selection, Rush was a game-changer with 44 receptions for 478 yards and six touchdowns, while notching 48 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

JC Cagle Gallatin, Sr.: Despite his absence for a few games, Cagle finished with 17 receptions for 206 yards and two touchdowns in just eight games.

Grayson Degraff, Grace Christian, Jr.: Degraff had a great season for the Lions, catching 31 passes for 464 yards and six touchdowns.

Javarion Bradford, Hillsboro, Sr.: Bradford earned All-City and All-Region honors with 32 receptions for 545 yards and four touchdowns.

Clay Woody, Jo Byrns, Sr.: Woody made plays both on offense and defense, finishing with 25 receptions for 700 yards and five touchdowns to go along with five interceptions.

Cam Blivens, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: Blivens was one of the state’s top pass catchers, finishing with 72 receptions for 1,082 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Zane Crampton, Nashville Christian, Sr.: Crampton was extremely efficient with 30 receptions for 636 yards and seven touchdowns.

Javin Drewelow, Nashville Christian, Sr.: Drewelow finished last season with 34 receptions for 529 yards and 10 touchdowns, becoming one of the most consistent red-zone threats in the area.

Kaden Grigsby, Nashville Christian, Jr.: A dynamic playmaker, Grigsby racked up 1,258 all-purpose yards, including 748 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Oliver Bender, Nolensville, Sr.: Oliver missed three games last season, but was still able to account for 52 catches, 762 all-purpose yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cayden Aukerman, Page, Sr.: A big target for what should be a potent Page passing attack, Auckerman caught 41 passes last season for 456 yards and seven touchdowns.

Ladamion Hunter, Pearl-Cohn, Sr.: Hunter was a key target for the Firebirds as a junior, racking up 451 yards and five touchdowns.

Hudson Curlee, Pope John Paul II, Jr.: Curlee emerged as a top target for the Knights, with 36 receptions for 709 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning D1-AA First-Team Middle Region honors.

Eric Ginther, Station Camp, Jr.: Ginther led Station Camp with 30 receptions for 472 yards and five touchdowns, earning All-County First Team and 5-4A Second Team All-Region.

Jesse Bratcher, Watertown, Sr.: Bratcher paced the Purple Tigers’ passing game, catching 71 passes for 949 yards and 12 touchdowns.
