Nine weeks of the high school basketball season have now come and gone. Through those nine weeks, we’ve gotten a good idea on who the area’s best programs are.
Even with that information, surprises are still bound to happen. That’s led to quite a few changes in this week’s area rankings.
Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA.
Here’s a look at the top 20 teams in our area entering the fifth week of the season.
Large Class
1. Clarksville (14-0): The Lady Wildcats are one of two unbeaten teams remaining in the area. They just keep winning by double-digits too with wins over Springfield (46-25) and Dickson County (62-41).
2. Blackman (14-2): The Lady Blaze have entered district play without losing a step. They cruised past Stewarts Creek 56-36 on Tuesday before dismantling Riverdale 74-36.
3. Lebanon (13-5): Don’t look now but the Devilettes are one of the hottest teams around. With wins over Stewarts Creek (68-45), LaVergne (61-25) and Wayne County (68-28) last week, they’ve won 10 of their last 11 games.
4. Brentwood (14-3): Ella Ryan became Brentwood’s all-time leading scorer during a week that saw the Lady Bruins move to 6-0 in district play. They cruised past Independence (64-33) and Ravenwood (63-34) before picking up a neutral-court win over Bartlett 72-55 to close out the week.
5. Page (16-4): The Lady Patriots kicked off the week with a 74-50 win over Franklin. They then had arguably their best showing of the season going on the road and crushing Nolensville 73-45.

Who just missed out: CPA (11-4), Harpeth Hall (10-6)
Small Class
1. East Nashville (16-0): In their only game of the week, the Lady Eagles cruised past Whites Creek 46-26.
2. Providence Christian (12-3): The Lady Lions established themselves as one of the top teams in DII-A this season with a 54-36 road win over Webb-Bell Buckle. They closed out the week beating GCA 62-13.
3. Goodpasture (11-4): The Lady Cougars established their spot at the top of the DII-A Middle Region with wins over Ezell-Harding (63-50) and Friendship Christian (72-34).
4. Ezell-Harding (15-3): The Lady Eagles nearly completed the comeback against Goodpasture but faltered late. They rebounded a few days later beating Nashville Christian 50-40.
5. Cheatham County (16-3): District 11-2A seems to be there for the Lady Cubs to take. They upped their winning streak to 10 games beating Fairview 48-16 and Harpeth 55-30.
