The key to success this season for the Lebanon Devilettes has been their defense.
Over their last seven games, the Devilettes held their opponents to 45 points or less. That trend continued Thursday night.
Hosting county rival Green Hill, Lebanon rolled to its 10th win of the season with a 58-28 win over the Lady Hawks.
“Our defensive intensity is something we got to rely on.” Lebanon coach Cory Barrett said. “”For us it’s getting better every day. We take pride in playing our best basketball in the tournament.
…I think if we keep building on what we did tonight, I like the direction we’re going.”

On the year the Devilettes are only allowing 41 points per game. In wins, they’re even better.
In those 10 wins they’re only allowing 31 points per game. Seven of those games featured score lines where their opponents scored less than 40 points against the Devilettes.
Even with their defensive-minded mindset, that doesn’t mean Lebanon shy’s away from basket.
This dual threat ability was on full show Thursday night as Tiara Spencer, a 5-foot-8 junior, made her presence felt on both ends of the court.
Spencer was lights-out from beyond-the-arc knocking down five en route to a game-high 21-point night.

“Good things happen to good people when they do the right thing,” Barrett said on Spencer’s performance. “Before tonight, (Tiara) had struggled the last couple games. We kind of talked a little yesterday
…her confidence was a little shaken. I just told her you got to make sure you make the plays on the other end and quit worrying about whether you’re making or missing shots.”
Spencer took this coaching into mind.
Not only was she knocking down her shots, she recorded multiple blocks, deflected a few passes, recorded a few steals and even took a few charges to lead the Devilettes on both ends of the court.
“I was very much more focused on scoring my freshman year,” Spencer said. “I feel like now I’m more focused on making my defense into my offense.”
