Our fifth-annual All-615 Preps teams have been determined by our staff. This year’s small class teams are made up of players from teams in Class 3A, Class 2A, Class 1A and Division II-A.
This is the third and final group of our all-area postseason honors. Our large class teams were released Wednesday and medium class teams were released Thursday.
This year’s postseason awards are presented by Sellars Funeral Homes.
Team of the Year: Nashville Christian

Led by a core consisting of sophomores and juniors, the Eagles rolled to the Division II-A title and their first state title since 2015.
Nashville Christian finished the season 12-1 and capped the season with a 49-21 win over Columbia Academy. They were one of the most potent offenses around regardless of class, averaging 47.8 points per game. In those 13 games, they beat their opponents by an average of 35.7 points.
Player of the Year: Jared Curtis, Nashville Christian, Jr.

If Tennessee had just one Mr. Football award to give out, it’s hard not to think that it would be headed Curtis’ way.
The Gatorade Player of the Year, Division II-A Mr. Football winner, MaxPreps Tennessee Player of the Year and Region MVP, Curtis enjoyed the best season of his high school career justifying his five-star ranking.
En route to the gold ball, he completed 70% of his passes for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He was just as affective on the ground, bullying his way to 637 yards and 18 more touchdowns.
Athlete of the Year: Dason Springer, White House Heritage

Is there anything Springer can’t do?
If the Patriots needed him to do it, the senior did it and then some. On defense he racked up an absurd 137 tackles, six interceptions (two for touchdowns), four tackles for loss and a pair of sacks.
Offensively. he also happened to be one of their best receivers. Springer caught 59 passes for 976 yards and 15 touchdowns, He also returned a pair of punts for touchdowns.
Offensive Player of the Year: Cooper White, Westmoreland, Sr.

A player who should have been a Mr. Football finalist, all White did this season for the Eagles was set school records.
Westmoreland won its first region title since 2006 thanks in large part to White. He carried the ball 162 times for 1,448 yards. That’s average of 8.9 yards a carry.
White set the school record in rushing touchdowns with 25. He ended his senior season with 31 all-purpose touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the Year: Antoni Morton, East Nashville, Sr.

If teams threw Morton’s way, they typically regretted that decision.
The senior defensive back for the Eagles played a massive role in their semistate run. He recorded 31 tackles on the year, but where he stood out the most was in pass coverage.
Morton recorded 12 pass breakups, eight interceptions and had three defensive touchdowns.
Lineman of the Year: Kaden Buchanan, Friendship Christian, So.

A rising sophomore with multiple Division I offers, massive is the best way to describe Buchanan.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pounder paved the way for a Commanders offense that rushed for 2,121 yards and 34 touchdowns on the season. They averaged 192.8 yards per game on the ground.
A lot of those yards were ran behind Buchanan, who ended his sophomore season with more than 35 pancake blocks.
Special Teams Player of the Year: Cam Wade, East Nashville, Jr.

Typically our Special Teams Player of the Year will be a kicker or punter, but Wade was too good as a returner this season.
Not only was he one of their leading receivers (670 yards, nine touchdowns) and a threat in the rushing game (665 yards, two touchdowns), he also returned three kickoffs and a punt for touchdowns.
Overall, he led the Eagles’ special teams unit with 408 kick return yards and 101 punt return yards.
Coach of the Year: Jeff Brothers, Nashville Christian

Only one coach in our small class group led his team to a gold ball.
Brothers had a loaded team this year and managed that group to perfection. As prolific as they were on offense, where coaching showed up the most was on the defensive side of the ball.
The Eagles made the semifinals last year, but went 6-7 because they gave up more than 31 points per game. This season, they were stout defensively. On the year, they only allowed 157 total points for an average of just over 12 points per game.
