Week 2 Boys Basketball Rankings: Goodpasture takes top spot

0 0

The first week of the high school basketball season has come and gone. We got our first look at our area girls teams and for some, they hit the ground running.

Others have seen their struggles out of the gate.

While it’s way too early to really justifiy who is and aren’t state contenders, results from last week have helped shape this week’s large and small class rankings.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 2A, 1A, and Division II-A.

Here’s a look at those 20 teams.

Large Class

1. Hillsboro (2-0): The Burros kicked off their season with a pair of blowout wins. They cruised past MLK 65-46 and Chattanooga Prep 68-35.

2. Pope John Paul II (3-0): It was a successful opening week for the Knights. They crushed Tennessee Heat 64-32 before beating LEAD Academy 74-55 and Clarksville Academy 78-66.

3. La Vergne (2-0): An opening road game against Marshall County tested the Wolverines. They were able to pick up the 58-46 win and a few days later beat Ravenwood 48-35.
