We’re putting a bow on the girls’ basketball season with the first-ever 615 Preps all-area girls’ basketball teams.
Up first, the large class. The 615 Preps large class coverage area includes teams in Division II-AA as well as Classes 4A and 3A.
Players selected to these teams are selected based on their season-long stats and nominations from their head coaches. Here’s a look at the inaugural 615 Preps large class teams:
Player of the Year
Imari Berry, Clarksville, Sr.

She may have come up short of winning a gold ball, but Imari Berry did just about everything else in her illustrious high school career including being named a McDonald’s All-American.
The only player in Montgomery County to win Miss Basketball and Clarksville’s all-time scoring leader, Berry finished her senior season averaging 23.8 points shooting 50% from the field while hauling in 6.1 rebounds per game.
Coach of the Year
Becky LeGate, CPA

With a fairly young squad, LeGate led the Lady Lions back to the Final Four for the first time in nearly a decade.
The trip back to Cookeville was the first semifinal appearance for CPA since 2016 and they faced an uphill challenge against defending champion Knoxville Catholic. LeGate’s crew pushed the Lady Irish as hard as anyone this season before ending the year at 18-13.
First Team
Guard
Mary Fox, Page, Jr.
It seems like the Lady Patriots always have a standout guard and that was no different this season. An all-district selection, Fox led Page to an undefeated regular season district record averaging 15.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.5 assists.
Guard
Ella Ryan, Brentwood, Jr.
Ryan was the Lady Bruins’ do-it-all guard this season and one of the state’s top scorers. She averaged 23 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 3.0 assists per game.
Guard
Addison Melton, Central Magnet, Sr.
Melton was the lone Midstate representative for Class 3A Miss Basketball and for good reason. She led the Lady Tigers averaging 19.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
Forward
Izzy McPherson, Sycamore, Sr.
McPherson was a scoring machine this season for the Lady War Eagles. Leading them to 22 wins, the UTC signee averaged 20.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists.
Forward
Torri James, Rossview, Sr.
Clarksville was home to two of the state’s top prospects this season with Berry and Western Kentucky pledge Torri James. James led the Lady Hawks averaging 15 points 8.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game.
Sixth Player
Leilani Washington, Nolensville, Jr.
District 10-4A was dominated by standout junior guards this season and Washington was easily one of the best. An all-district selection and all-region tournament selection, she averaged 14.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.9 steals.
