615 Preps Girls Basketball Rankings: Clarksville wins 23rd in a row

As we enter February, Division II basketball is getting ready to start up postseason play while the rest of the state inches closer and closer to the playoffs.

Large Class teams include 4A, 3A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 2A, 1A, and Division II-A.

Rankings are based on overall success current form for each teams. While teams may have beaten each other earlier in the season, we look at the current form of teams compared to each other.

With that in mind, here’s a look at this week’s 615 Preps large and small class girls rankings:

LADY LIONS MAKE A STATEMENT: PCA rolls past BGA in regular season finale

QUEENS OF WILSON COUNTY: Lebanon Devilettes cruise past Wilson Central

Large Class

1. Clarksville (23-0): Another week, another series of wins for the Lady Wildcats. Imari Berry averaged over 20 points in each of the games as Clarksville beat Dickson County 65-24, Northeast 84-31 and Rossview 49-37.

2. Father Ryan (22-2): Defense has been the name of the game for the Lady irish this season and they leaned heavily on that in a trio of wins last week. In those wins over Pope Prep, St. Cecilia and CPA, Father Ryan only gave up an average of 29.7 points.

3. Hillsboro (14-4): A few days after beating Overton by 16, the Lady Burros got their revenge against Cane Ridge. The Lady Ravens won the first meeting 46-44 in double overtime the week before but Hillsboro made sure there was no doubt this time rolling to a 58-39 win.

4. Lebanon (19-7): The Devilettes opened the week with a 30-point win over Smyrna before turning their focus to one of the state’s best teams in Cookeville. While they tested the Lady Cavs in both games, Lebanon was unable to walk away in a win in either losing 50-44 and 46-44.

5. Page (17-7): Is there a hotter team in Williamson County than the Lady Patriots right now? Page is undefeated in district play right now winning 10 straight following victories over Brentwood, Independence and Ravenwood.

10. Cane Ridge (11-6)

11. Nolensville (15-8)

13. Beech (14-7)

15. Central Magnet (17-9)

Small Class

1. Cheatham County (22-2): All the Lady Cubs do is win. They opened the week with a 47-37 win over Hickman County and followed it up with a 62-41 win over Liberty Creek and 55-37 win over Harpeth.

2. PCA (18-4): Three games, three wins. The Lady Lions head into the postseason winners of 13 of their last 14 games and seem to be the favorite for the DII-A title. They closed out the season beating FRA 44-41, USN 51-28 and BGA 67-41.

3. Goodpasture (18-3): If there’s another favorite to make a run at the DII-A title, it just might be the Lady Cougars. Goodpasture’s won 10 in a row and close the regular season beating Nashville Christian 53-46, DCA 37-25 and Ezell-Harding 46-29.

4. East Robertson (13-4): The Lady Indians took care of business in their lone game of the week beating Greenbrier 69-54 on the road.

5. FRA (17-6): The Lady Panthers will be right in the thick of the DII-A postseason race. While they lost to PCA, it was only a 44-41 game and they rebounded by beating GCA 59-41 to close out the regular season.
