Former Summit standouts Destin and Keaten Wade have transferred to the Colorado Buffaloes. The brothers spent the last two years at Kentucky.
They announced their decision on each of their Instagram and Twitter accounts.
The Wade’s announced their commitment to Kentucky back in April 2021 choosing the Wildcats over Louisville, Tennessee and Virginia. Both brothers were ranked as four-star prospects coming out of high school according to the On3 Consensus Ranking. Destin was ranked as the No. 396 player in the country while Keaten was ranked No. 207.
In his two seasons at Kentucky Keaten totaled 51 total tackles in 25 games. This season he appeared in 12 games recording 35 tackles, three tackles for loss and a sack.
As a freshman Destin appeared in one game for the Wildcats stepping in for Will Levis in the 2022 Music City Bowl. He finished the game 16-for-30 passing with 98 passing yards to go along with 17 rushing attempts for 23 yards.
The two brothers played a pivotal role in leading Summit to three straight state title appearances winning the Class 5A title in 2020. Both were Class 6A Mr. Football finalists in 2021 with Destin taking home the award.
During his senior year Destin ran for 2,312 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also completed 58% of his passes for 1,436 yards and 18 touchdowns. For his career Destin completed 56.3% of his passes for 4,888 yards and 62 touchdowns.
The 6-foot-3, 207-pound signal-caller was even more dangerous with his legs rushing for 4,905 yards and 64 touchdowns.
A foot injury prevented Keaten from playing most of his junior year. He bounced back in 2021 recording 84.5 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and two sacks to go along with eight rushing touchdowns on offense. For his career the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder recorded 113 tackles, 48.5 tackles for loss and two tackles for loss.
