0 0

Week 11 of the TSSAA high school football season was wild. Now the postseason is here and the next few weeks promise to bring even more edge-of-your-seat action.

The 615 Preps staff has put together a list of the top five large, medium, and small class teams in our coverage area following last week’s action.

Large Class teams include 6A and Division II-AAA. Medium Class teams include 5A, 4A, and Division II-AA. Small Class teams include 3A, 2A, 1A, and Division II-A, and each grouping has roughly 30 teams in it.

Large Class

1. Brentwood (10-0, last week’s ranking: 1): Baylor Hayes threw for two touchdowns the Bruins’ defense limited Ravenwood to 212 total yards of offense in a 17-0 victory. The win clinched the Region 6-6A title for Brentwood and secured their first undefeated regular season since 1998. Up next: vs. Cane Ridge (2-8)

2. Riverdale (8-2, last week’s ranking: 3): After 11 long years, the Warriors ended Oakland’s win streak in the Battle of the ‘Boro rallying for the 25-24 win. Riverdale rallied from a 17-0 deficit and with 1:30 remaining Braylen Vanderbilt converted a two-point conversion off a batted pass to put the Warriors up. Up next: vs. Green Hill (7-3)

3. Oakland (8-2, last week’s ranking: 2): Daune Morris had over 150 yards rushing in the first half but the Patriots couldn’t maintain the first half lead they built. The loss was the first region loss Kevin Creasy’s had during his tenure at Oakland, making him 49-1. Up next: vs. Gallatin (7-3)

4. Clarksville (10-0, last week’s ranking: 4): James Dalrymple surpassed the 1,000-yard mark on the season as the Wildcats crushed Northeast 58-0. The win secured Clarksville’s first-ever undefeated regular season. Up next: vs. Collierville (7-3)

5. Ensworth (8-2, last week’s ranking: Not ranked): It was another dominant defensive performance for the Tigers as they beat Christian Brothers 17-7. Up next: First-round bye

Medium Class

1. Pearl-Cohn (10-0, last week’s ranking: 1): The duo of D’Arious Reed and Zeion Simpson-Smith were more than enough to propel the Firebirds past Marshall County 42-17. Simpson-Smith rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns while Reed hauled in seven receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. Up next: vs. Lexington (4-6)

2. CPA (9-1, last week’s ranking: 2): Crews Law ran for a couple of touchdowns and the Lions seem to be in peak form entering the postseason with a dominant 38-6 win over Davidson Academy. Up next: vs. CAK (4-6)

3. Page (9-1, last week’s ranking: 3): Ethan Cunningham’s 152-yard and three-touchdown night was more than enough to lead the Patriots past Nolensville 45-14. Their defense capped the win with back-to-back pick-sixes in the fourth quarter. Up next: vs. Franklin County (3-7)

4. FRA (9-1, last week’s ranking: 4): Ty Clark got the Panthers back on track by rushing for 235 yards and four touchdowns in a 48-6 rout of Pope Prep. Up next: vs. Silverdale (4-6)
