For the fourth consecutive year, we’re hoping to help fill the void in a small way for those longing for football season by bringing back our Helmet Madness tournament.
The format will be a bit different this season as we’ve selected 68 teams based on the helmets they used during the 2022 season and will build the bracket through group votes in the first round. There are eight groups of either eight or nine teams and the top four will advance out of each group to the knockout stage.
In the first round, voters must cast a vote for one team in each group as seeding will be based on vote totals. Voters can vote once per day during each round of Helmet Madness matchups.
Voting runs through noon Central time on Thursday, March 23.
Just as in previous years, the winning team will get a guaranteed Spotlight Game at home during the 2023 regular season. Previous champions include Mt. Juliet (2020), Lebanon (2021), and DeKalb County (2022).
