0 0

The third and final group in our second annual 615 Preps All-Area Teams for the 2021 season is the Large Class team, made up of players from teams in Class 5A, Class 6A, and Division II-Class AAA.

Twenty players from last year’s inaugural team (noted by an asterisk) make repeat appearances this season.

Below is the 2021 615 Preps Large Class All-Area Team, beginning with the superlatives and a brief summary of why they were chosen.

As a reminder, only players from the schools in our coverage area were eligible.

Co-Coaches of the Year: Kevin Creasy, Oakland; Josh Crouch, Green Hill

Creasy led the Patriots to their second consecutive unbeaten season in repeating as Class 6A champions, as Oakland defeated three other state champions (Mississippi’s Madison Ridgeland Academy, Lipscomb Academy, South Pittsburg), two runner-up teams (CPA and Summit), won for the first time at Maryville and won by an average of 26.3 points per game this season.

Crouch led the Hawks to the Class 5A quarterfinals in the program’s second season and first year of playoff eligibility, as Green Hill won the Region 5-5A title. The Hawks won 11 consecutive games following a season-opening loss, including three games requiring a fourth-quarter comeback.
