We’re pleased to present our inaugural All-615 Preps Teams for the 2020 season, beginning with the small classes, made up of players from teams in Class 1A, Class 2A and Division II-Class A.
The teams were comprised of players who were All-State selections, either by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association or the Tennessee Football Coaches Association. Players who made both teams became automatic First Team selections. All other players must have been first-team All-Region selections to qualify. Coach nominations were also considered for placement.
In addition, superlatives for each team were chosen based on full-season performance (both regular season and postseason), and not every team will be represented.
Thanks to all the coaches who submitted players for the team, and congratulations to all the players selected this year. As a reminder, only players from the schools in our coverage area were eligible.
2020 615 Preps Small Class Superlatives
Player of the Year: Griffin Swinea, Davidson Academy, Sr.

Swinea rushed for 1,634 yards and added 166 more through the air, finishing with his second consecutive BlueCross Bowl MVP award after rushing for 294 yards in the Bears’ victory over USJ. He also added Tennessee Titans Mr. Football honors as well.

Lewis wasn’t just an offensive force, either: he returned two punts and a kickoff for touchdowns, made 67 tackles on defense, intercepted a pass and added a defensive touchdown as well.
Defensive Player of the Year: Kendyle Ball, Davidson Academy, Jr.

Why chosen: Ball was constantly in opposing backfields all year, racking up 81 tackles (31.5 for a loss), 15 sacks and 16 quarterback hurries for the Bears, helping lead Davidson Academy to its third consecutive state title.
Special Teams Player of the Year: Martease Edwards, Nashville Christian, Sr.

Why chosen: Teams paid a price if they punted to Edwards, who averaged 29.9 yards per punt return on 12 attempts, including two touchdowns. Edwards averaged 24 yards per kickoff return for the Eagles as well. Edwards also rushed for 1,053 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Coach of the Year: Jonathan Quinn, Davidson Academy
