Voting is now open for the Citizens Bank Player of the Week for Week 7 of the 2020 high school football season.
The fans’ poll will run until 6 p.m. Tuesday evening. The poll makes up one-third of the total votes for the award, as 615 Preps’ Chris Brooks and Scott Burton will cast their votes on this week’s 615 Preps Podcast, released on Wednesday morning on all major podcast providers.
Here are the nominees for this week’s Player of the Week:
Blake Barton, Grace Christian Academy: Barton rushed for 271 yards and five touchdowns (of 2, 23, 57, 58 and 71 yards) on 21 carries, and caught four passes for 62 yards in the Lions’ 55-46 loss at Friendship Christian.
Ranen Blackburn, White House: Blackburn had 27 carries for 224 yards and two touchdowns and had 106 passing yards and a touchdown in the Blue Devils’ 32-31, overtime victory over visiting Portland.
Xayvion Clemmons, Cane Ridge: Clemmons was 22-of-35 passing for 328 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions and ran for a score in a 27-24 loss at Smyrna.
Don Dunning, Friendship Christian: Dunning rushed 37 times for 339 yards and four touchdowns (of 14, 18, 43 and 57 yards) in the Commanders’ 55-46 victory over Grace Christian Academy.
Brendan Jones, Goodpasture: Brendan Jones ran for 84 yards with two touchdowns, had 30 yards receiving and returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score in the Cougars’ 30-3 victory at FRA.
Alex Krenk, Stewarts Creek: Krenk was 7-of-7 for 132 yards and two TDs and added 111 yards rushing and another score in a 49-6 win over visiting McGavock.
Kenny Minchey, Pope John Paul II: Minchey was 23-of-30 for 300 yards and two touchdowns and rushed eight times for 44 yards in a 38-35 win at MBA.
Luther Richesson, Lipscomb Academy: Richesson was 15-of-21 for 305 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-0 win over visiting Briarcrest Christian.
