Although autumn officially began last week, it sets in more when the calendar changes to October.
It also begins the final month of the regular season, and the pressure is starting to build in the playoff races.
The impact from all of this season’s schedule shuffling is starting to take effect, too. One such change is bringing together the top-ranked and No. 5 teams in Class 6A this week when No. 1 Oakland visits Brentwood. The teams haven’t played since 2014 — a 49-14 Patriot victory, and the Bruins have never defeated Oakland in four tries.
Could it be a BlueCross Bowl preview? Perhaps. Either way, both teams will learn a lot about each other this week.
