Ravenwood doubled up on the Citizens Bank Player of the Week award, as senior Trevor Andrews has earned the award for his work during the Raptors’ 42-21 victory at Franklin on Sept. 4.
A very tight race for the fans’ vote ended with a late push sending Andrews over the top, as nearly 900 votes were cast. Andrews secured 38.5 percent of those votes, edging out Goodpasture’s Cooper Pennington, who led with just a couple of hours to go.
Andrews’ vote was made unanimous as 615 Preps Podcast hosts Chris Brooks and Scott Burton also selected him for the honor.
Andrews joins teammate Junior Colson on the award list, as well as La Vergne senior Ray Banner.
We’ll share the stats of each weekly winner every week here as well.
Colson, the Week 2 recipient, did not play in the Raptors’ victory over Franklin.
Week 1 winner Banner rushed for 104 yards on 19 carries in the Wolverines’ 48-22 loss at Beech.
