Ravenwood senior Junior Colson is the Citizens Bank Player of the Week for Week 2 after his strong defensive and special teams performance in the Raptors’ 38-9 victory over visiting Blackman on Aug. 29.
Colson received 55.8 percent of the fan vote in our Twitter poll, and although Scott Burton chose Pope John Paul II junior Jackson Noble on this week’s 615 Preps Podcast to force a split decision, Colson won after getting Chris Brooks’ nomination for the award.
Jackson Noble (@JPII_Football): 3 INT, FR

Connor Beavon (@FHSAdmiralsFB): 15-22, 367 passing yards, 4 TD
Junior Colson (@RavenwoodFB): 11 tackles, 1 FR, blocked punt, kickoff return TD
Antwan Roberts (@JPII_Football): 30 carries, 167 yards, 4 TD
Colson joins La Vergne senior Ray Banner in the winner’s circle, so both players will be retired from the award for the remainder of the regular season. We will, however, honor them each week by sharing their stats.

Banner rushed for 268 yards and three touchdowns on 37 carries in the Wolverines’ 27-7 victory over visiting Green Hill in Week 2.
