This week’s Midstate Player of the Week is Pope John Paul II junior quarterback Sawyer Watts.
Half of Watts’ 12 completions went for touchdowns in the Knights’ 56-8 victory over visiting Christian County (Ky.) last Friday. Watts threw for 211 yards in addition to his six touchdowns.
Pope John Paul II improved to 4-2 for the season with the win. The Knights host Montgomery Bell Academy this week.
Watts is the third quarterback to take home Player of the Week honors this season, joining BGA senior Nick Semptimphelter (Week 1) and Eagleville sophomore Marcus Collins (Week 5).
