Helmet Madness down to the Sweet 16

Some very tight votes determined second-round matchups in the inaugural 615 Preps Helmet Madness tournament.

Three such contests came down to fewer than five votes as Macon County, Dickson County and Pope John Paul II each held on to advance to the third round in their respective regions.

Dickson County survived against Lipscomb Academy by a two-vote margin, while Macon County held on against Smyrna by four votes. Pope John Paul II also won by four votes, defeating Middle Tennessee Christian.

Voting for third-round matchups begins on Saturday and will run until 1 p.m. Central time on Monday.
