Davidson Academy’s repeat title in Division II-A on Thursday was the only area championship of the three midstate representatives, but two more take their shot the gold ball on Friday.

Pearl-Cohn, hoping to end an 11-year Metro Nashville title drought and a 22-year wait of their own, gets a chance against Alcoa in the Class 3A title game (3 p.m. Central).

Summit draws the nightcap against defending Class 5A champ Knoxville Central (7 p.m. Central), hoping to become a first-time champion in their initial BlueCross Bowl appearance.
