Opening Drive (Nov. 26): Perfection in sight

0 0

Ten teams statewide are still chasing perfect seasons in this week’s Division I semifinal games.

And at least five of them won’t be able to realize that dream.

Two of the unbeatens in Class 1A (Lake County and Huntingdon) and 6A (Oakland and Maryville) square off this week. South Pittsburg may make it an all-unbeaten final in 1A. Houston could await the Oakland-Maryville winner in the 6A final. Class 3A could potentially have a showdown of unbeatens if Pearl-Cohn and Loudon make it to Cookeville.

And for the others – Peabody in 2A and Elizabethton in 4A – they have land mines of their own to navigate before they can even set foot in Tucker Stadium at Tennessee Tech.
