Some big news came down during the past couple of days – Fayetteville had their wins reinstated for the time being after a restraining order and injunction against the TSSAA prevented the governing body from enforcing earlier forfeits due to an ineligible player. That shakes up Region 5-1A, as Fayetteville is back in first place and in the playoffs unless the case can be heard before a judge prior to the playoff brackets being settled.
Brentwood Academy standout tailback Jordan James announced that he has left the school this week, prior to the Eagles’ regular season finale against McCallie. James cited personal reasons for his exit. Brentwood Academy must defeat McCallie or have Knoxville Catholic lose to Father Ryan in order to qualify for the Division II-Class AAA playoffs.
