A look at the current playoff picture

0 0
With one week of games remaining in the regular season, let’s look at what the playoff picture currently is for the teams in our coverage area. These are based on the current standings, listed on the TSSAA website, and are what the playoff matchups would be if the teams finished the season in their current standings order. They only include teams currently in playoff positions. Teams in bold have already clinched playoff spots, per the TSSAA’s playoff possibilities. In Division I (all classifications), the top four teams in each region qualify for the playoffs. In the first round, the top two teams in each region host. Region 1 plays Region 2, Region 3 plays Region 4, Region 5 plays Region 6, and Region 7 plays Region 8. Region winners host the fourth-place team from the corresponding region, while second-place teams host the third-place team from the other region. (Editor’s note: This has been adjusted in Region 5-1A, as Fayetteville has filed a temporary restraining order and injunction against the TSSAA to remain eligible for the postseason, moving Mt. Pleasant down to the No. 4 seed. These are being treated as if Fayetteville will be allowed to compete in the postseason.)
