With the final three weeks upon us, it’s time to really focus in on the teams that have a shot at going undefeated – and the ones who need a win to avoid a winless season.
Six teams – Beech, Gallatin, Nashville Christian, Nolensville, Oakland, Pearl-Cohn – in the 615 area have a shot at a perfect regular season. We do know that at least one of Beech or Gallatin won’t get there, as they square off next week. The others don’t have any other unbeaten teams left in their way.
On the other side of things, 11 teams are still looking at a zero in the win column – Antioch, Glencliff, Grace Christian (Franklin), Overton, McGavock, Red Boiling Springs, RePublic, Rockvale, Siegel, Spring Hill and Station Camp. One of Rockvale or Siegel will collect a win – they face each other on Nov. 1. Two of Antioch, McGavock and Overton will also avoid a winless season, as those three teams have yet to face each other and will do so in the next three weeks. So, at most, seven of those teams could finish winless this season.
